      Bhat Sir, oru doubtu, Did they used to stop Rasam boiling because of the lead vessel? Or did they use the lead vessel because Rasam shouldn't come to a boil? Outta of the 2 which is true, coz they had other vessels too, they simmered stuff for hours, even the regular puli kuzhambu or even sambar requires rapid boiling. So my point is was the Lead coated vessel an instrument that was made for the process of rasam ie, Rasam shouldn't come to a boil so if you use lead you know you shouldn't heat it much ergo you'll be cautious handling heat won't stray away and focus on the dish & stop it before boiling thus we'll make a vessel outta lead (med props also plays role) to make sure you won't boil rasam kinda thinking led to its innovation. Is my reasoning apt? Coz you haven't let it boil much either & I have tried cooking Rasam longer, it turns bitter.

I learn some fun fact in every video of yours, just thought I should clear a misconception you mentioned in this video. The metal used to make eeya sombu, is actually not lead. Even though eeyam in tamil means lead, we actually use Vell-eeyam (white eeyam), which is actually a tin alloy with a little bit of aluminium. (www.thehindu.com/news/cities/chennai/the-sheens-gone-out-of-eeya-paathram-business/article6479130.ece) Everyone has a misconception that eeya sombu is made of lead, but lead is actually poisonous. Please read about lead poisoning in detail here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lead_poisoning#:~:text=Lead%20poisoning%2C%20also%20known%20as,in%20the%20hands%20and%20feet. Fun fact - the chemical symbol for lead is Pb, from the latin name Plumbum. The plumbum name comes from the fact that lead pipes were commonly used in olden days for plumbing pipes, but later we found that water passing through lead pipes were poisoning human body. Cheers!
